Lyman Hurd has a B.S. in Mathematics from MIT and a Ph.D. from Princeton. He has many years' experience with parallel computing starting with being one of the designers of the first Connection Machine from Thinking Machines Corporation. He did Postdoctoral work in the University of Maryland's Chaos Group and subsequently became the Senior Principal Scientist at Iterated Systems where he led video algorithm development. Currently he is a software engineer at Google.
